Keith Urban Thanks Nashville’s Front-Line Workers with a Special Drive-In Concert

The country star performed new tracks off his upcoming album "The Speed of Now Part 1."

Last Thursday, Keith Urban played a free concert at the Stardust Drive-In Theater in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of the Citi Concert Series. The show was Live Nation's first North American drive-in concert and was a thank you to all the healthcare workers on the front-lines at Vanderbilt Health, one of the major hospitals in the area.

Cars filled the drive-in to experience this special show and Urban took the stage with just him, his guitar, and one other band member on keyboard and guitar. Following social distancing protocol, Urban rocked the stage playing classic songs as well as a few new ones from his upcoming album, The Speed of Now Part 1, scheduled for release this September.

In an interview with The Today Show, Urban commented on the unique performance experience stating, “It was a load of fun! We didn’t know what to expect from a performance standpoint… but we also really wanted to take the opportunity to not only do the first one but to do it for the healthcare workers [because] that is what this is all about right now.” He ended the interview with a special shout-out to Live Nation, who has been working with Urban on this project for over a month, “Thank you to everybody at Live Nation, amazing to get that happening!”
